Alex Jones

Dr Alex Jones BSc (Hons) BDS - principal dentist

My passion is working with my clients to give them their perfect smile. Be it simply whitening the teeth or a more complex smile makeover, if my patient is delighted with the end result I have done my job and go home happy! I love having the time to talk to clients to understand what they really want, ensuring we are all working towards the same result from day one.

When I am not in the practice I enjoy spending time with my family. I am married with two beautiful young daughters who keep me very busy with all their out of school activities. When I do get a bit of time my sporting passions are cycling and snowboarding. I enjoy the fresh air and space of the Alps but most of the year have to settle for the indoor snowdome at Castleford!

Alex is an active member of the British Association of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners, The British Dental Association and the Association of Dental Implantology.

Laura JonesLaura Jones RDH RDT 2007 (U Sheff) - dental therapist

My aim is to listen to your problems and worries concerning your mouth and gums. I pride myself on how gentle patients tell me I am and that they actually enjoy attending their hygiene appointments! I am here to provide advice and recommendations on the latest technology and equipment most suitable for my patients and am happy to take time out to answer any questions you may have and demonstrate the best way to maintain a healthy smile.

As I have a dual qualification, I am also here to provide fillings on adults and children and I pride myself on making it as pleasant a visit to the dentist for treatment as possible. I am always ready to answer any questions regarding types of fillings and give diet advice to children and their parents with regards to maintaining a healthy mouth.

JJayne Jonesayne Jones - practice manager

I am the practice manager at Penistone Dental Care. It is my job to support our hard-working and dedicated team to ensure all aspects of your dental experience are consistently excellent. I am also involved in the marketing of the practice and am enjoying promoting all the great treatments we can provide here.

When I am not helping Alex at the practice I am kept busy by our two young daughters and animals who provide us with hours of fun! My particular interests include gardening, keeping fit and the occasional bit of shopping!

Mary RaynorMary Raynor RDN - dental nurse

I have worked as a dental nurse at this practice for over 23 years now, and completed my formal qualifications in 2005. My role in the practice is to assist Alex and ensure that all our patients are as relaxed and comfortable as possible. I enjoy the varied work and am especially interested in the cosmetic and implant dentistry we offer here at Penistone Dental Care.

I have lived in Penistone for over 35 years and enjoy walking in the beautiful countryside we have on our doorstep.

Elizabeth MessengerElizabeth Messenger - receptionist

I am the head receptionist and have been with the practice for a few years now. Before that I had a broad experience in the retail sector and always enjoyed working in customer-centred businesses. I enjoy the daily contact with our customers and pride myself on putting them at ease. I also ensure that everything runs smoothly at the front desk which I feel is the nerve centre of the practice!
I live in Penistone with my husband and a teenage daughter who keeps me on my toes when I am not at work!
